Chilling on Spring Break

Happy Easter! Sorry I didn't post yesterday, but I had a busy morning and was hanging with my family in the afternoon. My mom worked last night, so we are just home by ourselves while my mom sleeps. Also, my dad had a class to teach, so we are watching Food Network and eating Easter candy. Tomorrow we go to Pittsburgh, and we are there until Saturday. I am so excited!! Have a great Spring Break!

Spring Break

I am heading to Pittsburgh for Spring Break!! But first, Easter! My mom is working tonight and the next night, so we are leaving for Pittsburgh on Tuesday! I am very excited to see my new baby cousin, Annabelle Grace. Heather (Annabelle's mom) has a blog, so I get to see cute pictures of her constantly. She is so cute! That is all for now. I would say I will post more later, but I always forget. Anyways, I will try to post later. Love ya!

Washington DC!

My CBG class is taking a trip to DC! We got to create our own itineraries, so not everyone is going to the same place. My Uncle  Brian is meeting us for lunch today and is going to the Library of Congress with us and then taking us to lunch tomorrow. We are going to see A Christmas Carol at Ford's Theatre as a class tonight, and then we are going to see the White House Christmas Tree. Then we go back to the hotel for journal writing and lights out. I have included a picture of what our train car looks like right now and a picture of our itinerary. More to come later!

Adventures have kicked back up for Thanksgiving!

I am at my Mum-Mum's (my mom's mom) house for Thanksgiving. This is my cousin Emma, who is eight months younger than me. We are super excited to be together since she lives in Oregon. She flies in for holidays with her mom, dad, and little sister and brother. We both love Legos and Barbies!
We are having a wonderful time.

Crater Lake

On the way back from Lake of the Woods, we stopped at a beautiful lake called Crater Lake. It was formed 7,700 years ago when Mount Mazama erupted and collapsed into itself. Its deepest point is 1,943 ft below the surface of the lake. Its astounding clarity is caused by the snow and rain falling into it, filling it with water. It is the clearest lake in the world, and the deepest in the U.S. There are two island in the lake, and also two cones (rising islands). It has set the world record for Secci readings, 143 feet. A Secci reading is very simple. Scientists slowly lower a black and white disk into the water. You measure how clear the lake is by how long you can see the disk. Here are some pictures that I took while I was there.
I love the intense blue coloring of it. The blueness of both the sky and Crater Lake is caused by the other wavelengths of the color spectrum being absorbed and the blue wavelength being scattered.
